New Company Formed to Help Iowa Homeowners
Company Formed to Help
In Iowa, assessments are
re-evaluated every odd-numbered year using real estate sales transacted during
the prior calendar year. In 2007, assessments were adjusted using values calculated
based on sales in 2006, which was a much better year for real estate sales than
2008. Of course, the particular challenge faced by Iowa’s county assessors this
year is that the market value for many properties has been reduced
substantially due to the soft real estate market over the past several years,
which means that assessed values should be adjusted comparably.
As real estate professionals, the staff at Iowa Assessment Advisors, Inc. is experienced and trained at evaluating real estate, finding comparable properties, and examining and valuing features and benefits. They have met with county assessors to understand their scoring systems. They will examine the data on each customer’s property, research and determine the best method to protest its valuation, find suitable comparables, and prepare all forms and supplemental forms for the protest. All the customer will have to do is review, sign and submit to their county assessor by fax or by mail. IAA makes the entire process fast, easy and affordable.
